17th Annual "Drive for Literacy" Golf Tournament
On July 21, 2007, more than 130 golfers converged at Plantation Bay Club de Bonmont to tee off in support of Adult Literacy. New this year was the "Beat the Pro" challenge, which gave golfers a chance to take on Plantation Bay Pro Terry Yost for closest-to-the-pin bragging rights. This year's tournament team roster included:

2007 Corporate Spelling Bee
The annual Corporate Spelling Bee took place April 12, 2007 at Daytona USA. In a nail-biting finish, the team from The News-Journal knocked out the team from Brown & Brown Insurance, correctly spelling "naumachia" and winning the Spelling Bee once again.
Twelve teams competed this year, impressively fighting their way past words such as viridity, nephoscope, glossolalia, nonagesimal, chaurrasco, and many others. This year's line-up of teams included:
